2014 Ernest Family Reserve Shiraz

We love to hold some of our wine back to show how they change and improve with some maturation. This is one such wine.

Its mid red hues are consistent with its age, as is the nose. Notes of minty freshness give away its Padthaway origins. The palate is seriously weighty, with classic cool-climate Shiraz flavours of ink, hints of olives, and subtle spice.

Ernest is a food-friendly because of its cool-climate savoury structure, and with its tannins still fresh and dry even after a few years in bottle; will reward ageing until at least 2020. A classic Shiraz deserves a classic dish—rosemary crusted rack of lamb,  fresh rabbit and herb pie or maybe a (gentle...) lamb curry.
