2018 T-Trellis Shiraz

Good wines age well; from a good vintage, they age beautifully! Our 2018 Shiraz is not yet an ‘aged’ wine—give it another 5 years—but is just developing some lovely complexity.

Its time in bottle is evident in the colour: mid red with faint brick hues around the edges. It’s also a positive contributor to the nose, which oozes plum and mulberry fruit, liquorice, earthy hints (that’s the age!), and subtle toasty oak.

It’s a medium weight Shiraz, with an emphasis on fruit rather than what we winemakers call ‘extraction’: think drying tannins. However, it’s savoury, with fresh balanced acidity, and thanks to the screw-cap seal, will age beautifully for some time to come.
Don’t go past a good roast rack of lamb!
