2021 Henry Family Reserve Pinot Noir

Pinot is arguably the most fragrant of all red wines. Good ones—like our 2021!—have a powerful perfume of all sorts of red fruits: cherry, plum, raspberry; even beetroot. It’s essential that these characters follow through onto the palate, as being naturally quite low in tannin, without that density of fruit, Pinot can be lean and lacking in depth.

This is not a complex or highly-structured wine, but it is generous, round, mouth-filling and downright delicious. Those spicy red fruit aromas echo and linger around the palate, and importantly, ensure that it is plush and oh-so-drinkable. It will age well; but we don’t choose to pursue long cellaring, and suggest that you enjoy it in its youth.

The classic culinary companion is duck… for an absolute treat, cook a well-seasoned, medium-rare breast fillet with a pomegranate reduction or glaze (with a splash of Pinot included in its preparation), steamed broccolini and crispy potatoes.
